What's in your toolkit?
In the Spring of 2021 I photographed Sasha Yasinski, Banff Forest Fire Firefighter for Broadview magazine.
The magazine was highlighting the tools of her trade. What did her hands, body, and mind utilize to help her do her job?
It was a fun task to photograph and the early morning light made for some spectacular light for me to play with.
Interestingly, Sasha said her most important tool are her hands. Digging, touching, and searching for hot spots.
After a summer where our part of the world faced devastating and extreme forest fires, I'm happy to know Sasha is a part of the team working tirelessly to keep them at bay.
