Locally, Kelly is now for photographing newborns, weddings, and families.  However, internationally, Kelly is best known for her work as a sports photographer.

Retired Olympian turned sports broadcaster, Kelly's work in front of the camera is intricately linked to her work behind the camera.  Her sports photography regularly graces book covers, newspapers like the National Post, and National Sports coverage by CBC.

Branch Out is Kelly's passion and she wants to empower other women to help tell our communities sporting stories.

Kelly VanderBeek

I have always loved sports. Since I was not born with the raw talent to become an elite athlete, I have taken to photographing them.

I am currently a freelance sports/editorial/commerical photographer based out of Calgary, Alberta. I have been shooting professionally since 2008, after graduating from the photojournalism program at SAIT Polytechnic. When I am not shooting for my clients or myself, I can be found on the basketball court - or more accurately warming the bench, or at the dog park with my pouty Weimraraner Juno.

I am currently the contract team photographer for both the Calgary Hitmen (WHL) and the Calgary Roughnecks (NLL). I have also been featured in two Aboriginal magazines as a role model for Aboriginal youth.
